Payment Terms: Registration is not complete until full payment has been received.
Refund Policy: Once payment is complete, registrant will receive immediate access to the Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) On-demand Course and Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) Manual and will not be eligible for any refunds.
Course Materials: National Association of Divorce Professionals, reserves all rights on the basis of the Copyright law. All written material issued by the National Association of Divorce Professionals in the CDS courses, are strictly for the exclusive use of the participant and may not be copied, published, or shared with third parties, unless with the advance permission of the National Association of Divorce Professionals. Training participants are not allowed to make sound or video recordings during the training. You agree to not share content and course materials from the classroom, online training, or online resources with non-registrants. All content provided is off-limits to everyone but enrolled students. Course materials, including but not limited to the seven stages of the professional/client session cycle, may not be copied or added to other courses provided by participants. A printed course manual is provided only for Hybrid and In-person CDS trainings. On-demand participants have access to a digital copy of the manual.
Confidentiality: You agree to honor the confidentiality of what is shared during the Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) trainings, and activities, both in the classroom and online.
Denial: Proof of the profession listed on the registration form might be requested. If the participant does not have proof of licensing, credentials, or experience in the profession listed, the National Association of Divorce Professionals reserves the right to deny the participant use of the CDS designation.
Photography and Video Release: I hereby grant permission to the rights of my image, likeness, and sound of my voice as recorded on audio or video without payment or any other consideration to the National Association of Divorce Professionals, LLC. I understand that my image may be edited, copied, exhibited, published, or distributed, and waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the settings within an unrestricted geographic area. By signing this form I understand this permission signifies that photographic or video recordings of me may be electronically displayed via the Internet or in a public educational setting. There is no time limit on the validity of this release nor is there any geographic limitation on where these materials may be distributed. By signing this form I acknowledge that I have completely read and fully understand and above release and agree to be bound thereby. I hereby release any and all claims against the person or organization utilizing these materials.
If you are participating in a CDS Online Live training, you agree to join the course via the online teleconferencing or webinar platform instructed and stay on camera throughout the training. We will need your video camera on to confirm attendance. The program is highly participatory, so it is also important for the Trainer, as well as the other students, to be able to see our expressions and communicate with you through the camera. There will be several breaks throughout the program. If you need to step away from the computer you may notify us in the chatbox, however, we ask that you keep the camera on so we are able to see when you return.
Recognizing the power of speech to create both good and harm, you agree to practice honest, loving, and responsible communication, and to refrain from any harmful speech. Our program is designed to focus solely on the divorce process, so we ask that you refrain from any political or controversial conversations.
Testimonials: By participating in this Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) Program, you agree to allow the National Association of Divorce Professionals to use any testimonials or feedback provided by you, in whole or in part, for any purpose without compensation to you. National Association of Divorce Professionals may use these testimonials in its marketing materials, on its website, or in any other promotional materials as it sees fit. You acknowledge and agree that the issuing company may edit or modify your testimonials for length or clarity, and you waive any rights of attribution or approval in connection with the use of your testimonials. You further represent and warrant that any testimonials or feedback provided by you are accurate and truthful, and that you have the right to grant the National Association of Divorce Professionals to use them as set forth in these terms of service.
Assessment: Once registrant passes the CDS assessment with a grade of 75% of higher, they will receive their CDS designation. The first year’s annual dues are included in the course registration and are to be renewed every year. CDS designees must submit 10 hours of divorce-specific continuing credits every two (2) years to maintain their designation. There is a $95 annual fee to maintain the CDS designation. This first year designation fee is included in course pricing. After designee submits first renewal $95 payment (12 months after passing the assessment), all future yearly renewals will be automatically processed. If designee does not want to renew, they must email support@thecdstraining.com a request for cancellation at least 30 days prior to renewal date so that they will not be automatically charged.
Code of Ethics: Since the CDS designation is not a stand-alone profession and the certification solely represents that the designee has completed the Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS)16-hour training, all CDS Designees agree to act in accordance with their individual profession’s licensing and/or certification board’s code of ethics and standards.
As a professional organization, the National Association of Divorce Professionals (NADP) expects all Certified Divorce Specialists (CDS) to adhere to its code of ethics. Certified Divorce Specialists (CDS) must be committed to upholding the principles and standards set forth in the code. By following these principles, Certified Divorce Specialists (CDS) demonstrate their dedication to providing quality services to their divorcing clients and to promoting the integrity and reputation of their respective professions. This code of ethics reflects the NADP’s commitment to integrity, confidentiality, competence, and respect for clients and colleagues.
1. Integrity: A Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) shall maintain the highest standards of integrity and honesty in all professional dealings with clients, colleagues, and the public.
2. Confidentiality: A Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) shall respect the privacy of clients and shall maintain confidentiality unless required by law or unless the client gives explicit consent to disclose information.
3. Competence: A Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) shall provide their professional services with competence and skill, ensuring that they stay up-to-date with the latest developments in their specific field.
4. Conflict of Interest: A Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) shall avoid conflicts of interest and shall disclose any potential conflicts to clients.
5. Respect: A Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) shall treat all clients and colleagues with respect and shall not discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other characteristic.
6. Professionalism: A Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS) shall always conduct themselves in a professional manner, ensuring that they act in the best interest of their clients and avoid any behavior that may harm the reputation of the profession.
National Association of Divorce Professionals, LLC reserves the right to deny any registrants access to the training or to revoke CDS designation status due to:
1. Violation of the NADP code of ethics.
2. Failure to meet continuing education requirements.
3. Engaged in criminal or unethical behavior.
4. Misrepresented themselves or engaged in fraudulent activities related to their profession.
5. Failure to pay annual designation renewal fees.
Liability: Course participant is liable for all damages which result from their actions or neglect, this includes but is not limited to: Direct and indirect damage or injury the participant causes course venue or staff, other students, or any other damages or injuries that are not a result of course participation or exercises. Anything the participant does with the knowledge obtained during the course.
