Abril is a PhD candidate in the Personal Financial Planning program at Texas Tech University and a newly designated Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS®). She is an Associate at Robertson Stephens, working alongside Pam Friedman to offer personalized and comprehensive financial services and investment strategies, primarily focusing on divorced individuals.

Before joining Robertson Stephens, Abril was a Research and Teaching Assistant at Texas Tech University's Center for Financial Responsibility. She also managed financial strategies and led teams in Mexico, gaining extensive experience in commercial banking, retail financing, and team leadership.
Academically, Abril holds an MS in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University, an MBA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management from ITESM in Mexico. Her research interests as a PhD candidate focus on the financial well-being of divorced individuals.

Abril lives in Lubbock, Texas, with her husband John and their son Tommy, where they enjoy good food, traveling, and sports. With her new CDS® designation, Abril is equipped with advanced knowledge and communication skills to better assist clients through the divorce process. Her dedication to continuous learning and excellence ensures she remains at the forefront of the financial planning profession.
